Pricing Signs
Pricing signs are posted before all entrances to the Metro ExpressLanes. The first line shows the current toll to travel from the entrance point to the next major ExpressLanes exit. The second line shows the current toll to travel to the end of the ExpressLanes.
HOV 2+ W/FLEX $0 – Vehicles two or more people travel toll free with the FasTrak Flex
HOV 3+ W/FLEX $0 – Vehicles three or more people travel toll free with the FasTrak Flex
FasTrak Flex, the switchable transponder that can be moved to indicate the number of occupants in the vehicle.
Closed to All
No one may enter or use the lanes. Any driver who enters the lanes after the lanes are closed will be charged the maximum toll for the full length of the corridor, regardless of actual length traveled in the ExpressLanes.
Open to All
The ExpressLanes are open to any driver, even if the driver does not have a transponder. Violations will not be processed and tolls will not be charged. Drivers may not cross the solid double white lines unless directed to do so by CHP.
2+ Occupants & FasTrak Flex
Any driver entering the lanes must have two or more occupants in the vehicle and must also have a FasTrak Flex transponder set to the proper occupancy setting.*
3+ Occupants & FasTrak Flex
Any driver entering the lanes must have three or more occupants in the vehicle and must also have a FasTrak Flex transponder set to the proper occupancy setting.*
*Any driver entering the lanes without meeting these requirements will be subject to the maximum toll rate for the full length of the corridor, regardless of actual length traveled in the ExpressLanes. Drivers already in the ExpressLanes before encountering this sign may stay in the lane. Toll prices are based on real-time traffic conditions and vary according to the level of congestion using dynamic pricing. The toll is higher when there is more traffic in the ExpressLanes, and lower when traffic is lighter.
